Forget March Madness! Place your bets on a raffle to benefit The Floating Hospital!

This month, The Floating Hospital is thrilled to be the beneficiary of a fundraising raffle conducted by Garment District For Gowns (GDFG), a female-founded, New York City-based non-profit organization that provides health wear and crisis relief to medical facilities and community organizations.

Donations made on the GDFG site are automatically entered into the raffle to win accessories and clothing donated by designers such as Altuzarra, Khaite, Marc Jacobs, Monse, Oscar De La Renta, Prabal Gurung and Proenza Schouler, as well as art, and luxury personal and home goods donated by other lifestyle brands (La Perla, Coach). One hundred percent of the proceeds from the raffle will benefit The Floating Hospital. Four levels of giving ($15-100) allow participant donors to choose a donation packet to help a child or adult living in temporary housing or to outfit a healthcare worker with PPE.

A concurrent social media campaign, #TheFloatingChallenge, encouraged people to post picture of themselves “floating” with tags for their friends and The Floating Hospital.

There’s still time to participate: The raffle ends on March 31 at 10PM ET (winners will be notified within a week).

Founded in the wake of the Covid-19 epidemic, GDFG has manufactured and distributed medical isolation gowns for more than 46 healthcare facilities, to date, donating more than 11,000 gowns made in the USA.

A sneak preview [spoiler alert: It involves our new clinic]

On March 31, we invite you for a virtual cup of coffee from 8:30 – 9AM, as we offer a preview of our new flagship clinic. President Sean Granahan and Chief Medical Officer Shani Andre MD will present a peek into the clinic we and our community—and you, our supporters—have worked so hard to bring to fruition. The first in our “Conversations with Leadership,” this preview is a glimpse into our future as a new model of equitable healthcare that considers what the post-pandemic clinic looks like.
