The story of a consequential donation to buy coats for the homeless and how it grew like the Grinch’s heart to multiply its impact well beyond all expectations has enough “goodwill towards men” to surpass any tale of warm fuzzy goodness from holidays past and present.
This year was one of adaptation and expansion for The Floating Hospital and its patients. We celebrated clinic openings, a new men’s health program and our first ever TCS New York City Marathon team. We also inaugurated a new day camp for Spanish-speaking teens that replicated our sleep-away camp’s first-year curriculum.

If you want to know something about the administrative side of the organization or really anything at all about the hospital, Lana Stanarevic has the answer or knows how to find it, fast. That partially stems from her primary job as the hospital president’s assistant, a position that requires her to be part of the nerve center of the organization, but it also comes from the many other hats she dons on any given day.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and while our supporters are aware of the impact of domestic violence on many of our patients’ lives, there is still so much to learn about its prevalence and its repercussions, both across the nation and within our own city.
It was a glorious week on the eastern edge of the Catskills where a group of 96 kids aged 12 to 15 attended The Floating Hospital’s Camp Rise Up. The campers arrived in Rhinebeck for a week of classes and traditional and modern camp activities on August 26.
