Celebrating our Volunteers on #GivingTuesday

On the special occasion of Giving Tuesday, Floating Hospital President Sean Granahan, Esq., and Chief Medical Officer and EVP of Clinical Administration, Shani Andre, MD, hosted a heartfelt celebration in the Chef Maria Loi and Loukoumi Make a Difference Teaching Kitchen. This event was a tribute to our incredible volunteers, including the Floating Hospital board and committee members, who have dedicated their time, skills and expertise throughout the year, significantly enhancing the hospital’s ability to serve its patients effectively.

The mood was warm and grateful as volunteers were treated to delicious fare prepared by renowned restauranteur and philanthropist Chef Maria Loi. The event fostered a wonderful opportunity for these dedicated individuals to connect, share inspiring stories from their volunteering journeys, and reflect on the impact of their contributions.

The event was not just a gathering but a vibrant community-building experience. It was a testament to the spirit of giving and collaboration that underpins The Floating Hospital. The celebration was a resounding success, leaving everyone in attendance feeling appreciated and connected. A heartfelt ‘Well done!’ to everyone who made it a memorable and meaningful day!

A thank you event for some of our volunteers.

Year-end appeal 2023: anchor hope!

Our 2023 Year-end Annual Appeal is here! In it, we’re shedding light on our hopeful work to provide healthcare and essential support to every family who needs it. Every night, countless families in New York City seek refuge in shelters and domestic violence safe houses, escaping the trauma of domestic violence and the grips of homelessness.

A generous donation can steer a family towards stability and health. This year, we’re adding a $1 for $1 donation match, doubling the impact of the giver’s generosity. It will go towards our work to provide medical, dental, behavioral health and vision care services to all our patients, including domestic violence survivors. Additionally, our “more than healthcare” model delivers a lifeline of education, life skills, access to healthcare, crucial supplies and relief.

It’s a warm and welcoming time for families struggling with necessities such as food, clothing, housing and healthcare. For many, it is their only opportunity to bring gifts home for the holidays.
