The coronavirus pandemic may have slowed New York City down, but it didn’t stop The Floating Hospital from providing essential services throughout the crisis. All through COVID-19, we provided our patients and our staff with safe, comfortable and reliable transportation to and from our main clinic in Long Island City.

ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE CARE ITSELF
Today, The Floating Hospital’s Good Health Shuttle vans transport families throughout NYC living in more than 300 far-flung homeless shelters, domestic violence safe houses, and those “doubled up” with families and friends. We help patients from all five boroughs keep their medical appointments by removing the barriers, worry and costs of getting to the doctor. Our fleet also delivers much needed essentials to families such as diapers, personal hygiene supplies and medical prescriptions.

Public-health protocols during COVID necessitate that we change our delivery model to comply with social distancing guidelines, reducing our transportation abilities by 85 percent. To maintain the current need and to accommodate an increased patient load with the opening of our new main clinic this year, we must expand our fleet.
