SECURING THE FUTURE OF FAMILY HEALTHCARE FOR ALL

Our new medical home meets needs in challenging times

This is almost within our – and their – reach. But we need your help to get there.

In the spring of 2021, The Floating Hospital will open a new flagship clinic in the heart of Long Island City that will serve our existing patients and provide a new medical home for many more. In a time of so many restrictions, we are growing to meet an expanding need with a state-of-the-art 30,000-foot facility that will enable us to increase services and patient capacity.

Our patient families will arrive to three stories of light-filled waiting rooms, dedicated floors for medical, dental and behavioral health, family-oriented exam and counseling rooms, and a teaching kitchen and adjacent open studio for demonstrations and hands-on learning. It will truly be a medical home for so many who have no home of their own.

The pandemic presented a new lens through which to see our community and The Floating Hospital’s place in it. Now, more clearly than ever, we see what our new clinic represents: the right for all people to have dignified, compassionate, and first-rate healthcare.

This is almost within our—and their—reach. But we need your help to get there.

It will take everyone coming together to complete this essential community project. Please contact Ellen Barker at ebarker@thefloatinghospital.org to learn about giving opportunities and how you can impact the lives of thousands of families living with homelessness.
