Sean Granahan proudly holding his Schneps Power List Award

A ‘Powerful’ man

On May 7, Floating Hospital President Sean Granahan received a 2026 Schneps Media Manhattan Power List award during a celebratory dinner at Bryant Park Grill. The Schneps Power Lists recognize business leaders, “civic champions,” and elected officials who have had a notable effect on the region through their influence, innovation, and inspiration. For Granahan, it is a refection of his steadfast commitment to our mission of providing compassionate, barrier-free healthcare and support services to New York City families who need them most.

Welcome to the neighborhood

When Bank of America opened a new financial center recently in Astoria, it took a proactive approach to the good neighbor policy. The staff held a deodorant donation drive at the branch for our patients. On May 4, the Astoria financial center manager Alex Collado and two teammates, Carolina Morel, a vice president and consumer market leader, and Kevin Vega, a financial solutions advisor, came to our main clinic to drop off the collection.

At times when money is tight or nonexistent, hygiene products become luxuries that can be out of reach for families in temporary housing or financial stress. For families in these circumstances, our clinic has hygiene kits and individual items such as soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, in addition to other personal care supplies that many of us take for granted. They have been provided by caring individuals like these.

We are grateful to Bank of America and its Astoria financial center for understanding the need in the community and taking action to help address it.
