On Friday, August 12th, The Floating Hospital celebrated National Immunization Awareness Month with a Back-to-School immunization workshop. Vaccines are among the most successful and cost-effective public health tools available for preventing disease and death, and staying on top of your vaccinations is vital for everyone, no matter your stage of life.
The Health Education team presented an informational presentation on how vaccinations work and their importance in staying healthy, and answered questions by patients. Linda You, FNP-C, Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Project Manager, provided families with tips on staying on top of your vaccinations, effective hand washing techniques, and the importance of keeping up to date with your physician about upcoming vaccinations needed.
