TFH KidZone Health Education Services
Did you know that over 50% of homeless children do not attend school regularly?
Our innovative KidZone Learning Center offers individual counseling and group activities in a safe and comfortable environment to address the sensitive nutrition, hygiene and health-related questions often exacerbated by shelter living.
Since experts unanimously agree that education is the critical component in ultimately breaking the vicious cycles of generational poverty and homelessness … TFH has also added its targeted “BUILDING BLOCKS: A Healthy Start To School Success” initiative. Thanks to generous start-up funding from the MetLife Foundation, this program helps homeless parents get the medical resources they need to meet the NYC Department of Education requirements to enroll their children into daycare, pre-school and K-12. – and also provides access to available breakfast / lunch subsidies, after-school care programs, participation in extra-curricular activities and school provided counseling and psychological services.
